GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you live in West Michigan, you may already know all that the City of Grand Rapids has to offer. But if you're from outside of the area, you might not know what all the fuss is about.

That's why PBS Wisconsin host John McGivern made a trip to Grand Rapids to show off everything that makes the city special.

McGivern's show, "John McGivern's Main Streets", travels around the Upper Midwest, exploring the communities, people and attractions.

The Grand Rapids episode features local attractions like the Blue Bridge, Frederik Meijer Gardens, Rosa Parks Circle and the Amway Grand Plaza, just to name a few.

The episode also dives into the history of the city, telling the stories of the furniture industry, the more recent explosion of the craft beer scene, and the city's historic homes of Heritage Hill.

Don't be surprised if you learn something new about the city, because McGivern and his co-host, Emmy Fink, have lots of interesting tidbits to share about Grand Rapids.

This wasn't McGivern's first trip to Michigan. The travel show host has also visited Escanaba and Holland. McGivern also has episodes featuring cities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and, of course, Wisconsin.
