GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Beach days in November? Five 70 + degree days sparked many outdoor activities for the start of November. The heat also broke multiple records.
We shattered the number of November days in the 70s, with November 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th all reaching 70 degrees. The previous record was tied in 2015, 2008, and 1938 at 4 total days in the 70s.
We have tied for the second warmest November day on record, with the hottest being 81 degrees back in 1950.
Yesterday both Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo set the record for the latest in the year that 77 degrees ever occurred!
And believe it or not, that's not the end of this list of records.
Grands Rapids has had four consecutive days of record-breaking temperatures. Muskegon has seen three. That ties the record for consecutive 70 degree days in November.
With today already being unusually warm it is almost guaranteed to take us into the longest streak of consecutive November 70 degree days!
