West Michigan is up for a brutal week of winter starting Monday

West Michigan is in the path for several inches of new snow, then dangerously cold wind chills.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — This weekend is the time to prepare. Starting Monday, West Michigan will be facing a snow storm followed by the coldest air in years.

Weather models continue to bring a snow storm through West Michigan beginning early Monday. Snow will fall through the day and make travel increasingly dangerous.

Snowfall totals continue to change with every model run, but are agreeing that areas could get a foot or more of new snow.

Following the snow comes lake-effect showers on Tuesday. Additional snow accumulation is likely.
