WYOMING, Mich. — Love was in the air this Valentine's Day. Three Gatos Brewery in Wyoming, Michigan held their first ever Valentine's Day dinner with the release of their new house made beers. This was a special treat for customers.
Owner Linus De Paoli celebrated Valentine's Day and his birthday Wednesday.
De Paoli said "My wife had the brilliant idea of doing a three course dinner and pair all the beers with each one of the courses. And then Valentine's just looked like the perfect opportunity to do that."
De Paoli and his employees put a lot of work into their Valentine's Day dinner and beer release tonight. He said the process was complex but worth the wait.
"So the three beers we're releasing tonight are three mix fermentation beers," he said. "So they started as our normal beers. And then I put them in oak barrels and added different microorganisms to include increase their complexity and add different level levels of flavor to them."
The fermented beers may have been a surprise for customers but the amount of people who came out was a surprise for De Paoli.
"It's a lot more than we expected," he said. "When we had this idea. It would be probably for six, eight couples, and we are so happy that 14 couples decided to do this here with us."
De Paoli said he's grateful for the customers who came out and shared this special birthday Valentine's Day with him.
"I joke to people. When they learned I was born on Valentine's Day," he said. "I just chose saying that's why I'm so lovely. But yeah, it's just about, you know, celebrating the people we love and having a nice experience together."
3 Gatos has been open since July of 2021 and hopes to create more festive events like this in the future.
