If you find out you have high cholesterol, there is something you can do about it -- and for most that means eating healthier and exercising regularly.

Your cholesterol needs to be below 200, but there's a little more to it.

There is bad cholesterol, otherwise known as your LDL, that comes from a nice steak dinner and other saturated fats. You want this below 100.

The good cholesterol, or HDL, comes from healthy fats like olive oil, avocado and salmon. You want this number to be high because it actually removes the bad cholesterol and prevents the buildup of plaque in the arteries. Shoot for 60 or above by eating healthier fats.
