25-year-old suspect charged with murder in Schoolcraft Township shooting

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly shooting. Officers responded to the 13000-block of West Tremblay at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

UPDATE, Aug. 27: The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office identified Thomas William Wyatt, 25, as the suspect in the shooting of William Bolton. Wyatt was arraigned on Aug. 27 on an open murder charge.


SCHOOLCRAFT TOWNSHIP, Mich - The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly shooting.

Officers responded to the 13000-block of West Tremblay at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. That's near the intersection of V W Avenue East, and Portage Road in Vicksburg.

Upon arrival, officers found 28 year-old William Bolton, from Vicksburg suffering from a gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

A 25 year-old man, also from Vicksburg, was arrested. According to the sheriff's office, one charge of open murder has been authorities by the county prosecutor's office against the suspect. That person is being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail. More details will be released after the suspect's arraignment Monday, August 27.
