POLKTON CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a suspect in connection to a house fire that happened early Sunday morning in the Coopersville area.

Authorities say they received a report of the fire around midnight and arrived on scene shortly after. The house was well-involved in flames, prompting six different fire departments, American Red Cross, and North Ottawa Community Hospital EMS to respond. The fire was put out just before 2:00 a.m. Authorities say no one was injured.

During the investigation, responders found the circumstances surrounding the fire to be suspicious, which led to the arrest of one suspect by deputies. Ottawa County dispatch confirmed with 13 ON YOUR SIDE a history of methamphetamine use in the home. Officials have not confirmed if the fire is related to drug use or production.
