Laptop vending machine program expands at Grand Rapids Community College

Maybe you didn't know this, but Grand Rapids Community College has laptop vending machines, and they're about to get more of them.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The number of laptop vending machines at Grand Rapids Community College is about to increase.

Last year, the school embarked on a pilot program with the vending machines. Students could check them out for four hours of use without charge in the Student Community Center's counseling area. More than 500 students took advantage of that chance.

"We want to remove barriers to success, and not every student has access to computers at home," GRCC President Bill Pink said in a release.

"The laptop vending machines are one way we can eliminate barriers and ensure all students have access to resources they need."

Now two more machines are in the mix. They're on level G2 of the Main Building and at Leslie E. Tassell M-TEC.
