What you eat when pregnant could prevent your child from getting breast cancer

Broccoli sprouts may be good for your health, but may also benefit your future child and their chances of getting breast cancer.

A new study reveals what you eat during your pregnancy may protect your child from getting breast cancer.

A new study published in the Journal of Cancer Prevention Research found a nutrient in broccoli sprouts called "sulforaphane," activated tumor suppressing genes that specifically targeted breast cancer cells.

The study suggested that consuming broccoli sprouts during pregnancy may be the best time to activate these genes to possibly prevent breast cancer later in life.

There have been no human studies yet.
