Battle Creek resident injured trying to put out shed fire

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — One person was injured trying to extinguish a fire in their shed on Tuesday morning, according to the Battle Creek Fire Department. 

The department was dispatched to a structure fire at 214 Graves Avenue around 9:10 a.m.

When crews arrived, they said they found a detached shed was on fire with surrounding equipment beginning to catch fire as well. 

The crews extinguished the fire before it could reach the home nearby. 

A resident of the home was burned trying to extinguish the fire, but the department said they were treated at the scene. 

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
