Diocese of Grand Rapids continues Holy Week with Good Friday prayers

The Good Friday liturgy includes prayers, the Scriptural proclamation of Christ’s Passion, veneration of the cross and holy Communion.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Catholic community in West Michigan continues to celebrate Holy Week and as today is the Friday before Easter, it marks Good Friday. 

Most Reverend David J. Walkowiak, bishop of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, will lead the diocese's Good Friday liturgy which includes prayers, the Scriptural proclamation of Christ’s Passion, veneration of the cross and holy Communion -- all starting at 3 p.m at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew on Sheldon Blvd.

This is the one day of the year that the Catholic Church does not celebrate Mass.

This liturgy will be live-streamed on the diocesan website and Facebook page.
