Turkey causes trouble in Heritage Hill

A Tours Around Michigan bus was making their way through Heritage Hill when they came across a turkey causing trouble.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Most West Michiganders are struggling with construction this time of year, but if you were in Heritage Hill Monday morning, you may have gotten some grief from something a bit different—a turkey.

A Tours Around Michigan bus was making its way through Heritage Hill when they came across a turkey causing trouble.

A video captured by tour guide Candice Smith shows the bird pecking at a car that was moving carefully to avoid hitting it. Eventually, the car was able to safely drive away, but not without being chased down by the turkey.

Smith said the turkey was seen on two separate tours Monday morning in the same area of Heritage Hill.

This isn't the first time turkeys have caused issues in West Michigan. In 2022, the infamous "Gary the Turkey" was relocated by Kentwood police to improve safety in the area of  52nd and Kalamazoo Avenue, which Gary would frequent to chase cars.

Gary was so well-known in the Kentwood area that he had his own Facebook page for residents to keep an eye on his whereabouts.
