20-year-old stabbed in Kentwood; relative taken into custody

The victim was found with a non-life-threatening stab wound. A 57-year-old man, who is a relative of the victim, was taken into custody.

KENTWOOD, Mich. — A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stabbing a relative in Kentwood.

Police say the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Shaffer Avenue. Responding officers found a 20-year-old with a non-life-threatening stab wound. The suspect, a 57-year-old relative of the victim, was found walking nearby and was taken into custody.

Police say there is no threat to the public.
