MUSKEGON, Mich. — After a two-month delay, the new ALDI store in Muskegon Township is set to open on Thursday, May 9.

The new store is on E Apple Avenue, in the same location as the former Plumb's store, which closed in 2017. ALDI officials say there will be fresh produce delivered daily and a variety of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

The grand opening will be at 8:45 a.m. on May 9. The first 100 customers will receive a gift bag and a gift card. There will also be a sweepstakes running from May 9-12 for a chance to win a $500 gift card.

Webberville vice president for ALDI, Ryan Fritsch, said the goal is to give Muskegon Township residents another affordable shopping option.

“ALDI is positioned to help keep costs as low as possible because of our disciplined approach to operating with simplicity and efficiency," said Fritsch. "We have served the Muskegon community for more than 25 years and are excited to continue offering residents an affordable way of shopping.”

This store was originally slated to open in March, but contractors pushed the timeline back.

The store will be located at 1680 E Apple Avenue. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday.
