Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by vehicle in Plainfield Township

The pedestrian was identified as a 46-year-old Plainfield man. He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Kent County Sheriff's Office said a serious crash occurred Wednesday evening around 6:40 p.m.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at Hunsberger Avenue NE and Providence Street NE.

The sheriff's office said a 35-year-old Grand Rapids man was driving a silver Toyota Prius North on Hunsburger when he noticed the pedestrian in the roadway too late to stop and ended up hitting them.

The pedestrian was identified as a 46-year-old Plainfield man. He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was unharmed, according to officials.
