Rockford community raises money for senior class' end of year party

"It's for the seniors to go to and have a fun time with their friends."

Rockford High School seniors graduate on June 5 and immediately after the ceremony all the seniors will ride buses to their all night lock-in party that is at a secret location.

On Saturday night March 10, members of the Rockford community raised money for this rite of passage celebration with a Spring Fling Auction.

Items at the auction were donated by Rockford businesses or gift cards were donated by local restaurants.

Roxanne Meyers attended the auction. "It's for the seniors to go to and have a fun time with their friends," said Meyers. "It's a drug alcohol free environment so it's a safe environment for them."

The proceeds will be used to fun as much of the event as possible so the price of the tickets is kept low.

"It's all about the kids," said Meyers.
