No injuries reported after fire breaks out at Spring Lake junk yard

Video shows flames and dark smoke coming from several vehicles in the junk yard.

SPRING LAKE, Mich. — Crews responded to a fire around 10 a.m. Thursday morning at Joe's Auto Parts in Spring Lake Township.

The fire appeared to be located in a junk yard behind the auto parts store on Cleveland Street.

Viewer video showed flames and dark smoke coming from several vehicles in the junk yard. Drone video from Jeremy Johnston, vice president of Falcon Tool and Die, which is near Joe's Auto Parts, showed crews working to extinguish the flames.

Cleveland Street was shut down by fire crews between 148th Avenue and 144th Avenue for almost two hours so water lines could be run to fight the fire. The road has since reopened.

No injuries were reported. The cause is still under investigation.
