The 35-year-old succumbed to her injuries, according to authorities Wednesday morning.

WYOMING, Mich. — Police say a 35-year-old Wyoming woman has died hours after being in a head on crash at the intersection of Buchanan Avenue and 35th Street SW Tuesday evening.

Wednesday morning the Wyoming Department of Public Safety said Josefina Jarquin-Altamirano succumbed to her injuries following the crash.

Police said around 7:38 p.m., a 48-year-old man in a vehicle traveling north on Buchanan Avenue crashed head on into a southbound vehicle with Jarquin-Altamirano and the 10-year-old passenger inside.

Authorities said Wednesday, the 48-year-old man was still at the hospital in critical condition. The 10-year-old passenger in Jarquin-Altamirano's vehicle remained in serious condition.

Wyoming police believed speed to be a factor in the crash, the incident is still under investigation.
