GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Now that the eclipse is over you could hold on to your eclipse glasses for the next eclipse, but ultimately many people will throw them away.

If you want to avoid putting your glasses in a landfill, you have options for donating them.

Astronomers Without Borders has been sending used glasses to different parts of the world to be used by people who might not otherwise have a safe way to view the eclipse since 2008.

They send glasses all over the globe, including Africa, Asia and North and South America.

After the eclipse in 2017, Astronomers Without Borders said that millions of glasses were turned in. Their hope is to find the same success with the April 8 eclipse.

You can drop your glasses off at any Warby Parker retail outlet.

The only one in West Michigan is in Breton Village in Grand Rapids.
