Mark Dantonio to address graduates at Michigan State spring commencements

Former Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio will kick off the graduation season by addressing students and receiving an honorary degree.

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Students at Michigan State University are preparing to celebrate their graduations this month and a legendary Spartan is set to speak to the graduates.

MSU football's all-time winningest coach, Mark Dantonio, will address graduates at the spring semester commencement ceremonies on April 26.

There will be three speakers addressing the 9,000 Spartan students at the university's commencement ceremonies. Here is the schedule of speakers:

9 a.m.: President and chief executive officer of Michigan State University Federal Credit Union April Clobes will address masters and educational specialist degree students. Clobes will also receive an honorary Doctor of Business.

1 p.m.: Dantonio will kick off the graduation season by speaking to all graduates as well as receiving an honorary Doctor of Education.

3 p.m.: Bolaji Balogun, chief executive officer of banking firm Chapel Hill Denham in Nigeria, will conclude the commencement ceremonies and address doctoral students. Balogun will also receive an honorary Doctor of Business.

Balogun will also be the keynote speaker at the Global Business Club’s Spotlight on West Africa event, hosted by the Broad College of Business’s International Business Center on April 24.

All of the commencement ceremonies take place at the Breslin Student Events Center, 534 Birch Road in East Lansing.
