MUSKEGON, Mich. — Wings Over Muskegon is set to return in 2024 after relaunching the iconic airshow this year.

Wings Over Muskegon was held each year for 23 years until the Muskegon Air Fair in 2006. The show then took a 17-year hiatus and finally returned this summer.

Next year, Wings Over Muskegon will feature both civilian and military aircraft, as well as historic aircraft. The planes will also be available for viewing on the ground. A Friday twilight show kicks off the weekend with live music and a preview of the weekend's events, complete with lights and pyrotechnics.

Organizers said over 25,000 visitors attended this year's show.

“We were thrilled with the overwhelming engagement of the community in terms of spectators, sponsors, volunteers and vendors," said event director Ashley Myers. "It is clear that West Michigan embraces an air show.”

The show will run the weekend of Aug. 9-11. Tickets go on sale Dec. 12. General admission tickets will begin at the lowest price and increase as ticket thresholds are hit.

The website will also have information on performers and events happening throughout the weekend.

The airshow is a primary fundraiser for the Yankee Air Museum.
