Haworth, Interphase announce new design center on Grand Rapids' West Side

The $5 million, multi-use building will be completed early next year.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Leonard Street business corridor is getting a new addition next year.

Holland-based office manufacturer Haworth and Grand Rapids-based interior designer Interphase Interiors held a joint press conference Thursday to announce for a design center at the Leonard Street Development, located at 415 Leonard St.

The $5 million, three-story, multi-use building is expected to be completed in January or February of 2021. It will serve as a gateway project for the rebirth of the historic Leonard Street business corridor, the companies said.

When complete, the entire building will serve as a working design lab where designers can actively apply workplace research to design and demonstrate customized work environments for perspective clients.
