Fire department responds to 5 fires in northwest Grand Rapids

The fires are currently being investigated by the fire department and the Grand Rapids Police Department.

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — Monday afternoon and evening, the Grand Rapids Fire Department responded to five separate fires on the northwest side of Grand Rapids.

Lt. William Smith with the fire department said that four vehicles, one motorcycle and four garages were damaged as a result of the fires. He said there were also two trash fires. 

Specific details about the locations of the fires have not been released yet. 

The fires are currently being investigated by the fire department and the Grand Rapids Police Department.

Authorities have a description of individuals that are associated with these incidents, and if anyone has any information that can aid the investigation, they should contact the Grand Rapids Police Department at 616-456-3400 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
