CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — Law enforcement in Calhoun County is asking people to check their security cameras and trail cameras after a man assaulted a woman in her garage Tuesday evening.

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office said a woman reported an assault that happened around 6:15 p.m. on 11 1/2 Mile Road.

The woman told deputies she pulled into her garage and went around the back of her car to grab some belongings when an unknown man pushed her from behind.

She hit her head on her car, she told police, but was able to get out her concealed carry weapon.

That apparently scared the attacker off, and he took off running.

She told detectives she did not recognize him, and it appeared the suspect was in his early to mid-30s, and had sandy-colored hair. He was wearing a dark flannel shirt and maybe had muck boots on.

Deputies tried to use a K9 to track down the suspect but didn't find anyone.

Authorities are asking people who live nearby to check trail cameras or security cameras for any suspicious activity or sightings of the suspect.

If you do have information that could help, you're asked to call the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office at 269-781-0880 or Silent Observer at 269-781-9700.
