Grand Rapids fire crews rescue person from water early Saturday morning

Crews helped the person out of the water and checked them for injuries, none of which were critical.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A person was rescued from the Grand River around 1 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Grand Rapids Fire Department. 

Fire crews responded to the 1600 block of Monroe NW, where they said a person either fell or jumped from the train trestle into shallow water. 

Crews helped the person out and checked them for injuries, none of which were critical. The person was taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
