WALKER, Mich. — A man charged in the murder of 39-year-old Timothy Erickson Jr. confessed to the killing, according to court documents.
32-year-old Alexander Garcia was arraigned this week on open murder and firearms charges in connection to Erickson's death.
On March 23, police responded to Erickson's apartment at The Orchards at Four Mile in Walker to do a welfare check. His family had not heard from him in days and were concerned for his wellbeing, police say.
Erickson was found dead in the apartment with multiple gunshot wounds.
Probable cause documents obtained by 13 ON YOUR SIDE say Garcia confessed to the killing, saying he shot Erickson three times.
Garcia's confession aligns with evidence at the scene and the autopsy, investigators say.
Garcia was denied bond.
