42-year-old woman dies in Wyoming house fire

Fire investigators said a 42-year-old woman was the only one inside.

WYOMING, Mich. — A 42-year-old Wyoming woman was found dead inside a burning home Thursday morning. 

The Wyoming Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire around 4:45 a.m. near the intersection of Lee St SW and Collingwood Ave SW, just a few blocks from Parkview Elementary School. 

Crews worked to put out the flames while they searched for anyone inside. 

Firefighters found the body of a woman in the upper level of the home. 

Investigators identified her as 42-year-old Sara Martin, the sole resident of the home. 

The fire department does not yet have a cause for the fire. 

The Wyoming Fire Inspector is working with State Police Fire Investigators to find out what started it, while Wyoming Police detectives are looking into the circumstances surrounding the fire. 

They'll work together to determine if foul play is involved. 

During the fire, Grand Rapids and Grandville Fire Departments also responded.
