Police unable to locate person of interest connected to Wyoming stabbing

Police were in the area of Ivanrest Avenue and Pine Meadow Drive for several hours Wednesday but did not find who they were looking for.

GRANDVILLE, Mich. - There is a police presence at Ivanrest Avenue and Pine Meadow Drive in Grandville.

Police said the incident is related to a stabbing that killed one and injured another Tuesday night in Wyoming.

Authorities have advised drivers to avoid the crossroads if possible.

"Other than the obvious presence here, there's no reason to be overly concerned. Any neighbors who could be in harms way have been talked to and warned and we feel that everything is safe and secure and we're doing our very best to make sure that we're looking into this angle of the investigation in a safe and responsible way," Wyoming Police Lt. James Maguffee said. "A lot of what you see today is an abundance of caution. The way that we operate nowadays, is in a way to keep everybody as safe as possible and sometimes it looks a little more dramatic than it is."
