This week's Meijer Scholar Athlete is Peyton Moore

On top of everything on his plate, Moore is in the National Honor Society as he maintains a 4.0 GPA.

WAYLAND, Mich. — This week's Meijer Scholar Athlete has a leadership presence that everyone at his school looks up to.

Wayland Union High School student Peyton Moore certainly stays busy with his athletics.

The Wildcat senior is a three-sport star playing football, basketball and baseball. He's been on the varsity teams for all three of those sports since his sophomore year.

He is also a member of S.A.D.D. or Students Against Destructive Decisions.

With all of that on his plate, Moore is in the National Honor Society as he maintains a 4.0 GPA.

He says being a good student athlete comes down to attitude.

"To be a good student athlete you really just have to be a positive role model on the field and in the classroom," Moore said. "You just have to be the guy that asks questions in class. Helping out other people when they need help. On the field again, you just need to be able to lead others and step up. Whenever coach has to have you do something, if you need someone to do something, you need to step up and say 'I got it.'"

Moore plans on attending Davenport University to study business as he wants to own his own business someday.
