'Mt. Wing-suvius' wins West Michigan Whitecaps Fan Food Vote

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Whitecaps fans chose "Mt. Wing-suvius" as the winner of the 2018 Fan Food Vote.

Mt. Wing-suvius is a mixture of mac ’n cheese, beercheese and buffalo chicken all combined to fill out the center of an onion ring tower. It was created by John King of Lansing.

“When you can't decide what to eat, just wing it!” King said.

But wait, there's more! Mt. Wing-suvius isn’t the only new item at the concession stand this season.

Also new in 2018:

Westsider: This half-pound cheddar-infused kielbasa sausage is wrapped in bacon then fried and served on a sub bun.

Swimmin’ Pig: It’s a 7oz. Pork Chop Sandwich, swimming in BBQ sauce and served on Kaiser Bun.

Spicy Boneless Wings: There are three flavors from which you can choose. Wimpy, Near Death and Death Nectar. Near Death is not something to be taken lightly.

The Big Wheel: Two 1/3 lb. hamburger patties. Add a Johnsonville Brat split down the middle and put cheese, onion, lettuce, etc. on top.

Asian Noodle Bowls: For something different we have two choices of noodles, Yakisoba or Lo Mein, with your choice of Coconut Lime or Thai broth then your choice of carrots, sprouts, green onions, and Sriracha spices for toppings.

Deep Fried Bananas Fosters Cheesecake Bites: Served with caramel dipping sauce.

Shipwrecked: A new signature drink. Captain Morgan White, Captain Morgan Spiced, Blue Curacao and more all in a 64oz. fish bowl.

Brew City Fries: These battered natural-cut style pub fries are the perfect complement to any entrée.

Cheese Curds: A beer battered and deep-fried cheese curds. A little salute to our neighbors to the West.

Fans will get their first chance to try all the new options at the Whitecaps home opener on Thursday, April 5, against the South Bend Cubs.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by phone to 616-784-4131 or online at www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
