GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Storm reports from across West Michigan are starting to come in after yesterday's powerful ice storm. Sleet, freezing rain, snow, and even thunderstorms were detected across the lower peninsula and it left behind a powerful punch.

Tree branches were snapped, powerlines crumbled, and sidewalks/roadways were left coated after impressive amounts of ice fell. Some areas were certainly hit harder than others, with the highest reports coming out of Allegan, Jackson, Kalamazoo, and Calhoun counties.

Sleet and snow mixed together, followed by a layer of freezing rain for many of our counties to the north. We are still waiting to get more reports in from counties such as Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceans, Mecosta, and Montcalm.

If you have any ice or snow measurements, you can report them to the National Weather Service or us by texting 616.559.1310.

While the bulk of this system has exited the region, we are still anticipating a light freezing drizzle and flurries today, as well as gusty winds. This could lead to additional power outages across the region.
